Breaking the ice
Posted on May 29, 2009 at 5:57PM
‘Catch them young’ is what they say when they train, guide and sensitize the young mass. A group of 16 privileged children were brought closer to the not so fortunate counterparts in Vishwa Bharti School, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. An innovative school exchange programme between the two extremes has been initiated by the school. The children of Class IV and V of both the schools (formal and non formal schools) cracked the wall that divides the rich and poor. Today’s privileged children seem to have a broader outlook towards the less privileged. Sessions like, know thy neighbour, display the talent, know my school – Buddy, designing greeting cards, bonding through Information Technology, role plays, theatre, story telling, Hasta La Vista and other ice breakers were great fun for all the children gathered there.
